Pigeon Point Light Station is located on the coastal highway. The white masonry tower, resembles a typical New England structure. Perched on a cliff on the California coast, 50 miles south of San Francisco, the 115-foot Pigeon Point Lighthouse, is one of the tallest lighthouses in America.
We watch eagerly for a sighting of any passing marine mammals. We did spot a seal as we watched the brilliant blue water for whales which can be seen regularly from shore as they pass by beyond the surf.
